“California is a fine place to live – if you happen to be an orange.”

October came and went
Without a whimper
Still no rain in sight
The temperatures are in the eighties
Everyone east of California
Is either flooded or freezing
Just eight short weeks until
The New Year arrives
Time flies and life goes on
Here in Southern California
We remain with summer weather
On this first week of November

There´s an old song I really love, it goes like “it never rains in California…”. It´s from the 60´s or 70´s, I think. I wish California rain, as well as I wish for other places on earth that climate change won´t hit them too hard! Love your poem, it´s lovely and a little sad in one. 🌞🌧🌨

Ann, I love that song and us Angeleno’s know it’s so true how it never rains but it pores. Thanks for the kind comments.

It’s unseasonable warm here in Massachusetts. We’ve had plenty of rain lately, although not much this past summer. Hopefully, you get some rain soon.

Rob, today when I got up it looks like rain. It just seems to keep teasing us, but I don’t feel it in my bones.

The weather service is now taunting us here in the north with the possibility of rain here in the north. They say by morning. Maybe.

Here in the South we’ve been hearing about the rain coming for weeks. I’ve stopped watching and listening to the weather girl. I’ll just listen to my body aches, that’s how I know it’s going to rain.

Right now, the weather underground page says there’s a 100% chance of rain by morning, but when I look at the satellite pictures I don’t see clouds. When I look outside, I don’t see clouds. Not sure how that’s going to work – rain with no clouds…
