Think Before We Speak

“Before you speak, let your words pass through three gates.
At the first gate, ask yourself, ‘Is it true?’
At the second ask, ‘Is it necessary?’
At the third gate ask ‘Is it kind?”
Rumi

Think Before We Speak

The quote from Rumi I read on a blog I recently was introduced to. The blog is by Pat Cegan at Source of Inspiration. I wanted to give a call out to her. It’s a must read blog with beautiful poetry and words of inspiration.

Appealing People

“What we are today comes from our thoughts of yesterday,
and our present thoughts build our life of tomorrow:
Our life is the creation of our mind.”
Buddha
Life is the Creation of our Mind

We should all live life aware of our self-fulfilling prophecies. If we wake up with an attitude that the world is unfair, we will inevitably meet a world full of small-minded people.

But, if we wake every morning and draw attention to all the times in our life that people helped us or just showed kindness, we walk into a world of appealing people.

Windows of Your Mind

What you really want for yourself is always trying to break through,
just as a cooling breeze flows through an open window on a hot day.
Your part is to open the windows of your mind.”
